About this site

The term filler material comes from welding: the substance added between two pieces of metal to create a bond. It's essential—transforming separation into connection, supporting structural change. In other contexts, it can carry a different weight: a placeholder, something deemed less important, the stuff in between the “real” work.

This newsletter embraces all those meanings.

As a sculptor and installation artist working with salvaged metal, fiber, and other tactile materials, I’m drawn to the overlooked, the transitional, the remnants. Filler Material is where I share thoughts, fragments, process notes, and works-in-progress—pieces that hold everything together but don’t always fit into the finished frame.

It’s a space for connection and reflection—for those who care about making, mending, and the quiet labor in between. Thanks for being here.

Why Subscribe to Filler Material?

This is a space for what holds things together—the thoughts, sketches, fragments, and reflections that often live between finished works. As a sculptor and installation artist, I value process as much as outcome, and Filler Material is where I share that with you.

A Studio Archive

Subscribers get full access to past and future entries: studio notes, images of work in progress, reflections on materials and place, and the occasional deep dive into technique or concept. Think of it as a living archive—one that unfolds with time.

No Algorithms, Just Art

New posts arrive directly in your inbox. No social feeds, no noise—just intentional updates from my studio to your screen.

A Network of Practitioners

This newsletter is read by artists, curators, students, and others who think deeply about form, process, and meaning. It’s not a comment section—it’s a quiet gathering of like minds.
